Ondo CP Adebowale Lawal Vows to Sustain Public Safety Efforts

The Zone 17 Command of the Nigeria Police Force, Akure, is reinforcing its commitment to professional policing and effective regional security coordination.

In a week marked by strategic engagements, the newly posted Commissioner of Police for Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal, paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 17, AIG Ajani Omolabi.

During the visit, AIG Omolabi pledged the full support of the Zonal Command to the new Commissioner, encouraging him to consolidate existing security frameworks while strengthening police-community relations across the state.

In a related development, the Zonal Headquarters hosted a one-day seminar on Contemporary Policing, bringing together top-ranking officers from Ondo and Ekiti States.

The seminar, led by AIG Omolabi, focused on promoting intelligence-led, community-based, and technology-driven policing strategies. Presentations were made on key operational areas such as effective stop-and-search procedures, professional conduct in investigations, administrative efficiency, and maintaining legal discipline during court proceedings.

The event aligns with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to reposition the Nigeria Police Force as a model of professionalism, integrity, and public trust.

Speaking at the event, CP Adebowale Lawal reaffirmed his commitment to upholding that vision. He assured residents of Ondo State of strategic actions and proactive policing measures aimed at sustaining and improving public safety.
