Chaos Rocks APC Senatorial Primary in Akure
The senatorial primary elections of the APC was today disrupted as suspected thugs invaded Akure ward 5 voting centre.
The incident caused panic at Ebenezer Primary School in Akure, where delegates, party supporters and residents fled for safety during the chaos.
The situation forced the abrupt closure of the school as parents rushed to evacuate their children from the premises.
One of the aspirants, Adeniyi Adegbonmire, alleged that armed thugs disrupted the process after it became clear he was leading in his ward.
Adegbonmire described the exercise as a complete charade, claiming that his supporters were attacked while his vehicle was hit by bullets during the incident.
Another aspirant, Olumuyiwa Adu, also condemned the exercise, alleging that armed men intimidated supporters of other contestants at several voting centres.
