Governor Adeleke Resigns From PDP Amid National Leadership Crisis
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party.
The resignation was conveyed in a formal letter addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Sagba Abogunde Ward 2, Ede North Local Government.
In the letter made available to journalists, Governor Adeleke said he is withdrawing from the party with immediate effect.
He explained that his decision is informed by what he called the ongoing crisis within the PDP’s national leadership, which he said had made it difficult for him to continue as a member.
The Governor expressed appreciation to the party for its years of support, noting that the PDP provided the platform through which he was elected Senator for Osun West and later Governor of Osun State.
The letter was acknowledged and signed by the Ward Chairman, Saka Alamu, who confirmed receiving the original copy on 4 November 2025.
The Governor did not indicate his next political move.
