Oloba-in-Council Warns Deji of Akure Over Alleged Incursion

The Oloba-in-Council of Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government has cautioned the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, against what it described as incursions into its ancestral land.

Speaking at a press conference in Oba-Ile, the council’s representative, Otunba Omoniyi Omodara, insisted that Owode, Araromi, Eleyowo, and other surrounding communities are historically and traditionally under the authority of the Oloba Oodaye.

Omodara accused the Deji of attempting to install minor chiefs in these areas, calling it a distortion of history and an attempt at territorial expansion.

He further stated that Oba-Ile predates Akure by centuries, claiming the Oloba once contributed to the establishment of the Akure monarchy by sending his son to become the first Deji.

The Oloba-in-Council urged the Deji to respect traditional boundaries and warned that Oba-Ile land cannot be ceded to anyone for any reason.
