Governors divided over state police at meeting with President Buhari
State governors are divided over the issue of state and local government police.
Chairman of the Nigeria governors forum and Ekiti state governor Dr Kayode Fayemi revealed this after a meeting between president Muhammadu Buhari and state governors at the presidential villa Abuja, today.
Fayemi said although state police was on the table, the governors did not take a united position because financial capacity of the states was not the same.
State and local government police was one of the recommendations of presidential panel that investigated alleged human rights abuses by the special anti-robbery squad.
