INEC Announces Readiness Towards Rescheduled General Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reaffirmed its readiness for the rescheduled general elections.

Chairman of the commission, Mahmood Yakubu spoke in Abuja while briefing stakeholders on the level of preparedness of the commission.

He informed that the commission has achieved a 98 percent reconfiguration of its smart card readers.

Professor Yakubu emphasized that the INEC was working round the clock to actualize the new election date.

The INEC boss and the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama will today brief heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited to monitor elections in Nigeria on INEC preparations for Saturday’s elections.
