INEC re-opens political campaign
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the resumption of campaigns by political parties and their candidates.
A statement by INEC’s national commissioner and chairman, information and voter education committee, says the campaigns will end by midnight of Thursday 21st February 2019.
The statement hints that the commission gave the approval at a meeting, where it reviewed preparations for the re-scheduled elections.
It explains that the commission has also worked out in detail, concrete steps to be taken to ensure that election materials arrive at the polling units in good time for prompt commencement of the polls on Saturday 23rd of this month.
INEC says it will give an update at a press conference at the Abuja international conference centre by 3 pm today.
