Political Leaders Must Possess Knowledge of Economy and Politics- Akeredolu

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has stressed the need for Political leaders in the country to have deep understanding of politics and economy.

He said only with enlightened leadership can reasoned and sound decisions be made in any society.

Akeredolu spoke today at a lecture for the NDC Course 26 at the National Defence College, Abuja.

The governor stressed the need for the political leadership to redirect the discourse on the socio-economic challenges facing Nigeria to issues of strategies and tactics for the attainment of nationhood.

He said ethnicity and religion should not be used as political tactics to win support, for it portends serious danger for all.

The commandant of the College, rear admiral Adejimi oshinowo commended Governor Akeredolu for his deep analysis of what makes good governance.

He expressed optimism that the lecture will go a long way in assisting the participants in their endeavors.
