Ondo To Get 50Megawatts Solar Power Plant
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has reiterated the interest of his administration to partner genuine investors at accelerating development in the Sunshine State.
Speaking while playing host to an electricity generating company in his office in Akure, Governor Akeredolu congratulated the company on its success at securing the Federal Government license to generate 50 Megawatts of Electricity using Solar Power Infrastructures in the state.
The governor who expressed the willingness of his administration to meet the power needs of the state despite paucity of funds, announced a 3-man committee to meet with the energy company at working agreeable modalities for partnership.
The committee will be headed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Utilities, Engineer Tunji Ariyomo.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Cecusafe Nigeria Ltd, Engineer Johnson Alabi had acknowledged the efforts of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at ensuring that the Federal Government granted his company the license to establish a 50Megawatts Solar Power Plant at Uso in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
While assuring that work will commence on site in March this year and get completed within 13 months at a cost of $ 77.5 million ; Engineer Alabi requested the State Government to acquire some of the company shares .
