Osun judiciary workers picket Chief Judge’s office

Members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN in Osun state today shut the entrance of the state high court, Osogbo in a protest against poor management of activities and welfare of its members.

The protesters led by the chairman of the union Gbenga Eludire, converged on the entrance gate of the state high court preventing both human and vehicular movement in and out of the court premises.

They were also armed with placards with various inscriptions such as ‘Judiciary staff deserves better,’ ‘We are tired of oppression and ‘Unlawful suspension of Judiciary staff without recourse to Judicial Service Commission” among others.

Security operatives were also stationed around the court premises to forestall breakdown of law and order

While speaking to journalists the Chairman of JUSUN in the state Gbenga Eludire who denied that the protest was being sponsored coming at a time that the State Chief Judge has been suspended by the Governor, said the protest was to demand for their benefits.

Eludire hinted that they have explored internal mechanism to get the matter addressed but all proved abortive vowing that they will continue picketing the court until their demands are met.
