Police Parade suspected Killers of UNIBEN Lecturer

Police in Edo State have arrested three suspected killers of University of Benin professor, Paul Otasowie.

The suspected killers were among the one hundred and four criminals paraded by the state commissioner of Police CP Johnson Kokumo in Benin City, Edo State capital.

The hoodlums had shot dead a victim at a filling station in Benin metropolis a week before they pounced on the late Electrical Electronics in a bid to use his vehicle for a robbery operation over a month ago at Ekehuan, Ovia North East council Area of the state.

Also arrested is 23-years old Mikel Dudu, a National Diploma graduate of Business administration who allegedly kidnapped a 16 year old girl, Miss Victory Asengua he met on Facebook at Ebike Village in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the state.

Mr. Dudu, was said to have forcefully seized the 16 year old Victory for 4 days and demanded a ransom of N4m from the parent of his victim before being nabbed by the police on a tip off.

A Suspected Killer, cattle herdsmen, gang of car thefts, rapists including operators of illegal refinery at Egonu River Bound, in Auchi axis were also paraded for their various involvement in crime.

Briefing newsmen in Benin City, shortly after the parade, the State Commissioner, CP Johnson Kokumo said the arrest was within a spate of three weeks and stated that crime would be reduced to the barest minimum.

The Edo police boss gave the breakdown of arrest within the period under review as 29 armed robbers, 20 kidnappers, and 50 members of secret cult groups.

CP Kokumo, urged the general public to volunteer useful information that could led to the arrest of criminals in the state.

Items recovered included N1.02m, assorted Fire arms matches, face masks and others.
