NARD strike bites harder as patients beg govt to intervene
The indefinite strike embarked on by the National Association of Resident Doctors across Nigeria is currently biting hard in Ekiti state, as patients were left unattended to at the various government hospitals visited in the state.
Adaba FM’s correspondent Tunde Akinlabi reports that the resident doctors were not on duty.
Two patients, Babalola Joshua and Afeez Tijani who were seen on the hospital bed appealed to government at all levels to pay attention to the needs of the doctors to enable them save lives.
Meanwhile, chairman Nigeria Medical Association in the state, Dr. Kayode Ariyibi when contacted explained that the strike is total.
He highlighted some of the agitations of the doctors.
However, he urged the federal government to improve the wages and allowances of doctors to avert the indefinite strike.
