COVID-19: Osun reopens hotels, relaxation centres after five months

Osun state government has ordered the reopening of hotels, and other relaxation centres across the state.

This is coming barely five months of lockdown of hospitality industry in the state in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

The deputy governor who is also the chairman of the state taskforce on COVID-19, Benedict Alabi made this known in a meeting he had with representatives of hospitality industry across the state, held in Osogbo, the state capital

Alabi reeled out the protocol that must be observed by operators before reopening which include the use of face masks, adequate provision of hand washing equipment with running water and hand sanitizer at the entrance of the premises

Other guidelines are, maintaining social distance of a minimum of 4 feet and all social spaces such as event centers to be operated at 50% capacity.

The Deputy Governor also added that there must be no night party, as he warned that failure to comply by any operator in the industry would warrant immediate closure of such business premises.

Also speaking one of the representatives of hotel owners in the state Eniola Adeniyan promised to comply with all the directives put in place by the state government.

Adeniyan however commended the efforts of Government at curbing the spread of the pandemic in the state.
