FG palliative good for consumption – Osun govt

Osun state Government says the 1800 bags of rice received from the federal Government are good for human consumption.

The commissioner for special duties in the state Olalekan Badmus stated this during an interview with Adaba FM.

Badmus said, the state government will repackaged the rice for distribution to the poor and vulnerable in the state.

He commended the federal government for the gesture saying this would go a long way to mitigate the effect of the lockdown on the people of the state.

Upon the speculations that the rice are not fit for consumption the commissioner of information and civic orientation in the state Funke Egbemode said that, state government had sent a sample of the rice for quality test and its waiting for the result.

The commissioner assured residents of the state that asides the federal government food palliative, government has other food items in the bank and distribution of the items will commence soon.

It would be recalled that the federal government ordered the Nigeria Customs Service to donate 1,800 bags of rice each to Oyo, Osun ,Ekiti State and Ondo State as parts of efforts to cushion the effects of coronavirus on residents of the four states.
