Middle belt forum president calls for proscription of herdsmen

The middle belt forum has urged the federal government to proscribe Fulani herdsmen.

The group accused Fulani herdsmen of committing genocide against its people

President of the group, Bitrus Pogu, made the demand during a forum in Abuja.

At the forum, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafia, called for a new approach to tackle the problems of Fulani herdsmen.

The middle belt forum comprises the states in the north-central region of Nigeria.
