Trump asks appeals court to block subpoena for his account records
US president Donald Trump has asked an appeal court to throw out a verdict regarding his accounting firm.
On Monday, Trump called on the court to overturn a ruling that his company must submit his financial records to the house of representatives.
Trumps lawyers argued that the decision by us district Judge Ammit Mehta was flawed and should be reversed.
The house oversight committee said it needs Trumps financial records to examine whether he has conflicts of interest.
However, Trump’s lawyers said congress does not have the powers to investigate the president’s alleged legal violations.
