Oluomo emerges new speaker in Ogun

Former deputy speaker of Ogun state house of assembly, Olakunle Oluomo has emerged the speaker of the ninth assembly.

Oluomo, a member of the All Progressives Congress and a three-term lawmaker from Ifo 1 state constituency, was elected the new speaker by all the 26 members of the assembly.

Oluomo was a former loyalist of ex-governor Ibikunle Amosun before they had a disagreement prior to the last election.

The assembly also elected Dare Kadiri, a member of APC from Ijebu north II (Ifelodun) constituency as deputy speaker of the assembly.
