Ethiopia prime minister pledges free elections in 2020

Ethiopia’s prime minister Abiy Ahmed has commenced a long-time reform in key areas of the country’s economy.

Also, the prime minister made peace with neighbouring Eritrea and appointed women to form half of his cabinet.

Mr Ahmed freed about 60,000 political prisoners, lift ban on opposition group and engaged political leaders on dialogue.

He has pledged free elections in 2020 as he moved the economy from state-led to market-based growth.
