NMA bemoans exodus of doctors to foreign countries
The Nigeria Medical Associates (NMA) is alarmed at the exodus of indigenous doctors of foreign countries.
President of the association, Dr Francis Faduyile lamented the development at the opening of its annual general conference meeting in Abakaliki on Thursday.
Faduyile noted that over two thousand doctors migrate from the country annually.
He explained that migration necessitated the theme of the conference skills repatriation in the health sector, turning Nigerians brain drain at jam.
While reacting to the issues raised, the minister of health, professor Isaac Adewole said the federal government was striving to halt the exodus.
