Five missing as gunmen storm Zamfara school

Five persons were said to have been abducted by unidentified gunmen at government girls secondary school Moriki in Zurmi local government area of Zamfara state.

The gunmen reportedly stormed the area at about 11:30pm, Wednesday night with sporadic gun shots.

Meanwhile, Zamfara state police command says, it foiled the attack by deploying a combined team of police mobile force and criminal tactical unit and civilians JTF personnel to confront and stop the hoodlums from gaining access to the students hostels, which was successful.

However, in a statement released by the command, two caterers and three of their children were later discovered missing, noting that efforts are on to establish their whereabouts.
