Tinubu’s Governance Attracts Ondo PDP Lawmaker, Ward Chairmen to APC
The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State has suffered a major setback as prominent members of the party in the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Among the defectors is the member of the House of Representatives representing the Idanre/Ifedore federal Constituency, Hon. Festus Akingbaso.

The former Accountant General of Ondo State, Dr. Layi Lawrence Ibukun, led the defectors from Ifedore, while Hon. Kola Ademujimi led those from Idanre.

At the defection ceremony held in Odode-Idanre on Friday, Hon. Festus Akingbaso said he was joining the APC to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Other defectors cited the good governance of President Bola Tinubu as their reason for joining the APC, describing it as a progressive movement they are proud to be part of.
The Deputy Governor of ondo state, Dr. Olayide Adelami, who represented the Ondo State Governor, stated that the APC is a party for all and welcomes those who believe in true development.
APC Chairman in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, welcomed the defectors and described their defection as a homecoming.
At least six PDP ward chairmen in Ifedore and seven out of ten ward chairmen in Idanre defected to the APC along with thousands of their followers.
