Monkeypox spreads across 15 Nigerian states – NCDC

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed that the Monkeypox virus has spread to fifteen states in under eight weeks.

The states are Lagos, Adamawa, Delta, River, Cross River, FCT, Kano, Bayelsa, Edo, Imo, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo and Ondo.

The agency urged health workers to use personal protective equipment in the treatment of infected persons to avoid the spread of the disease.

It also implored members of the public to report promptly the cases of stooling and vomiting to the nearest health facility.
