INEC launches guideline for 2023 elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched the regulations and guidelines for the conduct of general elections in the country.

INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced this on Friday during a meeting of the inter-agency consultative committee on election security at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The INEC boss said INEC with the presentation of the regulations and guidelines, the commission has concluded formal preparations for the polls.

He said it is the first time the commission is releasing the guidelines nine months to the general elections.

While appreciating security agencies for their support, the INEC chairman stressed that the inter-agency consultative committee on election security would continue to play a critical role in the conduct of elections in the country.
