PDP Senatorial candidate seeks royal blessings, visits Owo monarch
The Ondo North senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 National Assembly elections, Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe, has paid a visit to the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye.
The visit was to seek royal blessings from the monarch as preparations for 2023 elections begin.
Adetokunbo Modupe told Olowo and the Olowo-in-council that even though he grew up with his mother who is from Ute in Ose Local government, he remains strongly connected to his paternal roots of Owo.
He added that being a son of Mondongho means he is of royal blood.
Akogun Modupe said he cared a lot about quality representation and would always be a good ambassador of Owo.
Also, the PDP Chairman in Owo Local Government, Chief Okeowo Olafimihan, said the visit was to officially introduce the candidate to Olowo.
In his reaction, the Olowo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye congratulated Akogun Adetokunbo Modupe for clinching the PDP senatorial ticket for Ondo North.
The monarch added that he is a father to all irrespective of their political leanings
The PDP senatorial candidate for Ondo North, Akogun Modupe, was also accompanied to the palace by the party’s chairman in Ose, Elder Kole Aborowa, candidate of the PDP for Owo Constituency 2, Kehinde Ajanaku, former caretaker chairman of Ose Local Government, Johnson Ilepe, amongst others.
