Sudan’s military leader lifts state of emergency, releases prisoners

Sudan’s leading general has lifted a state of emergency that was imposed in the country following the coup led by him in October.

Over the weekend, the country experienced yet another day of protest against the military coup.

The ruling military also recommended that the people detained under an emergency law shall be freed.

The decision by head of Sudan’s ruling sovereign council, general Abdel-Fattah Burhan came hours after the security and defense council made the suggestion.
