Tambuwal appeals for calm over Sokoto killing

Governor Aminu Tambuwal has appealed for calm following the violence that erupted and killing Deborah Samuel, a student of the state-owned Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.

After a meeting with the heads of security agencies in the state, governor Tambuwa promised that the perpetrators of the crime will be brought to book.

The governor appealed to the people of the state to continue to tolerate one another and ensure the age long peaceful coexistence, that existed among adherents of different faith in the state is maintained.

Deborah Yakubu was killed for alleged blasphemy by an angry mob at the school premises after the mob overpowered the school security guard that attempted to protect the deceased student.

The chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Sokoto, Nuhu Iliya while sympathizing with the family of the deceased, demanded justice in the matter.
