Suspected gunmen shoot Ekiti Monarch

Some Suspected Gunmen have reportedly shot the Attah of Ayede-Ekiti, Oba Adeleye Orisagbemi, a first class traditional ruler in Ekiti State.

Oba Orisagbemi was reportedly shot on Sunday evening at around 9:00 pm while on his way to his home town in Ayede-Ekiti.

Adaba FM gathered that the monarch was shot while some suspected kidnappers were trying to abduct him while on transit.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state Sunday Abutu in a statement confirmed the incident.

He said efforts are on the top gear to track down the perpetrators while he confirmed that the monarch was responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police in the state, Tunde Mobayo said he has put machineries in motion to bring down the menace to it’s barest minimum.

The traditional ruler cannot be reached as at the time of filling this report as he was said to have been receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the state.
