Seven Governorship Aspirants Want Cancellation Of APC Primaries

Seven out of the eight aspirants jostling for the APC ticket in Ekiti state have withdrawn from the party’s primary election.

The aspirants include Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, Femi Bamisile, Bamidele Faparusi, Kayode Ojo, Olusola Afolabi, and Demola Popoola.

A statement by the aspirants calls for the suspension of the shadow poll.

They alleged that the primary election committee is made up of Governor Kayode Fayemi’s loyalists.

The aspirants claimed that the governor is attempting to impose former secretary to the state government, Biodun Oyebanji, as the Ekiti APC governorship candidate.

They accused the governorship primary panel led by the Jigawa governor, Abubakar Badaru of compromise.

The seven aspirants with their supporters had stormed the party’s secretariat located at Ajilosun area of the Ado-Ekiti, the Ekti state capital to protest alleged irregularities.
