Catholic bishop seeks financial support for missionary institutions
The Bishop of Ondo catholic diocese, Reverend Jude Arogundade, has asked government and well-meaning Nigerians to financially commit to missionary institutions, especially hospitals to enhance its effectiveness.
Reverend Arogundade spoke at a news briefing to kick-start the activities marking the 70th anniversary of St. Louis catholic hospital, Owo.
Meanwhile, the free surgeries organised as part of the week-long activities to mark the 70th anniversary of St. Louis catholic hospital, Owo are ongoing and will continue on Friday.
The surgeries cover conditions like hernia, appendectomy, removal of lump, myomectomy and lipoma.
A medical officer at the hospital, doctor Adeyanju, spoke on the reason behind the free surgeries.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the rare opportunity to benefit from the free surgical treatment.
