Death toll in Lagos building collapse increases

The death toll from the collapsed 21 storey  building on Gerrard road in Ikoyi, Lagos has increased.

This was confirmed this morning by the national emergency management agency.

Acting coordinator of the Lagos office of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye said, the dead include 33 males and 3 females while 9 survivors are recorded.

The survivors include one female and eight male.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu again visited the scene today and thereafter addressed the press.

Sanwo-Olu has set up a 6-man investigative   panel  into  the incident and promised that those found culpable after investigations by the panel, will be punished.
