Group clamours for more inclusion of women in politics
A women advocacy group in Ondo state Women arise initiative has raised concerns about how women have been neglected in governance and the political circle.
The group wants a national representation and gender inclusion in the political process is a matter of utmost importance for political leaders and stakeholders to take into consideration.
The chairman of the group, Mrs Taiwo Olayiwola said the group represents the interests of women and their development.
Mrs Olayiwola appreciated the governor of Ondo state Arakunrin Akeredolu for appointing the first female SSG in the state,but she said the women wants more.
The vice chairman of the group Adebunmi osadahun called on political parties to embrace fairness and equity as guiding principles in future selection process.
The secretary and the publicity secretary of the group Olamide Falana and Dupe Adetuwo wants media organizations and civil society groups to push the course of women who have shown interest of taking political positions.
The group however commiserate the family of late Adedayo Omolafe Expensive and pray to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
