ANC suspends key leader over murder charges
The provincial executive committee of the African National Congress (ANC) in Mpumalanga has suspended former MEC for agriculture, Mandla Msibi.
Msibi and four others are facing two charges of murder and one of attempted murder.
Two suspects were released on bail last week. Msibi and the other two suspects will continue their bail application in the Nelspruit magistrate’s court on Wednesday.
Acting provincial secretary of the ANC, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, says they have decided to suspend Msibi as a PEC member and in all leadership roles in the organisation.
Ntshalintshali also apologised to the members of the media who were threatened outside the Nelspruit magistrate’s court on Monday during Msibi’s bail application.
On Tuesday, Msibi was fired from his position as Mpumalanga agriculture MEC.
