Fayemi appeals to residents to hold back taking chieftancy matters to courts
The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has Appealed to residents and traditional institutions in the state to exercise restraint in dragging chieftaincy matters to courts.
Fayemi made the plea during the inauguration of the Onisan of Isan-Ekiti, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon as the chairman Ekiti State Council of traditional rulers held at the Governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.
The Governor explained that his view was not borne out of lack of confidence in the judiciary, adding that the acrimony and discord that usually accompany such moves always undermine the peaceful co-existence in the communities.
Fayemi who also presented the new chairman, State Council of traditional rulers with one SUV Utility Jeep, with a security vehicle said such gesture would enable him attend to all official engagements.
In a remark, the new chairman of the state council of traditional rulers, Oba Ayodele Adejuwon described his appointment as a call to service, while noting that his first task as chairman shall be to unite and bring together all traditional rulers in the state in other to move the state forward.
