Buhari approves PIB implementation committee

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a committee to commence the implementation of the petroleum industry act.

The committee headed by the minister of state for petroleum, Timipre Sylva is to begin the process in 12 months.

President Buhari gave the approval during a meeting with the leadership of the national assembly led by the president of the senate, Ahmed Lawan, at the presidential villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

In the meantime, minister of state for petroleum, Timpre Sylva hinted that increment in the sale of petrol is not immediate.

Sylva added that the 3% allocation to host communities is fair.

Buhari assented the petroleum industry bill two days ago.
