Ondo Govt Bans Activities of Sharp Sand Dealers

The Ondo state government has banned the activities of sharp sand dealers in the state.

This followed the sharp increase in the price of sharp sand from 25, 000 to 60, 000 Naira per load of a 10-tyre truck across the state.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties and Strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale, decried the high rate of extortion by the sharp sand dealers at a press briefing in Akure.

He insisted that government would not allow the sharp sand dealers to extort money from members of the public and make things difficult for the people.

Odebowale explained that the decision is on the directive of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
