Troops Rescue Four Kebbi Students, 1 Teacher
Four of the abducted students and a teacher of federal government college, Birnin Yawuri in Kebbi state have been rescued by the troops of operation Hadarin Daji.
Reports say one of the students was killed in the process of being rescued.
A yet-to-be identified number of students and teachers were abducted on Thursday by suspected bandits in Kebbi state.
Meanwhile, the Kebbi state police command has described as untrue allegations that the kidnappers who abducted students from the federal government college, Birnin Yawuri, on Thursday used a police vehicle to convey the abductees.
Public Relations Officer of the command, Nafiu Abubakar, said the Toyota Hilux van used by the kidnappers was hijacked from a high court judge in the state with the inscription Kebbi state judiciary and registration number KBSJ 29.
He added that the command will continue to release all relevant information on the kidnapping as it unfolds.
Abubakar, said the command will continue to cooperate with all sister security agencies to ensure that the abducted students and teachers are rescued.
