Community leader regains freedom from kidnappers den in Ogun
A community leader, Tajudeen Omotayo, kidnapped on Saturday in Imope, Ijebu north local government area of Ogun state has regained his freedom from his abductors.
He was said to have been released on Tuesday night after a sum of ₦5.5m was allegedly paid by the family to secure his freedom.
His abductors had earlier demanded ₦100 million ransoms before they could release their victim.
The gunmen had abducted the community leader on Saturday while coming back from a meeting from Ijebu-Ode in his vehicle.
The police public relations officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the development but denied any ransom paid, saying that he has no knowledge of such.
