Ultimatum to Herdsmen: Ondo residents commend Akeredolu
Residents of Ondo state have commended the state government for its directive to herdsmen to vacate forest reserves in the state within seven days.
On Monday, the Akeredolu administration had directed them to also put a stop to underaged herding, open grazing and grazing in unauthorized locations.
Some residents, who spoke with Adaba FM, said the move was long over due and should be strictly enforced for the good of the people.
They also appealed to the government to create a ranch for herdsmen to put a final stop to the grazing menace.
In his reaction to the latest directives, the Chairman of MIYETTI ALLAH in Ondo state, Alhaji Garba Bello, said the ultimatum is not perceived as a threat, but a reaffirmation of directives already given to herdsmen by the national leader.
