Fayemi re-emphasizes need to abide by COVID-19 rules

Ekiti state Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi has re-emphasized the need for residents of the state to abide strictly by the COVID-19 protocols.

Fayemi at a State-wide Broadcast in Ado Ekiti said the move was to further forestall the spread of the dreaded disease as he also expressed government stance not to betray its promises on securing the lives and properties of its citizen.

Fayemi who announced that he is currently fit to perform official duties after his COVID-19 status came out negative after taking two separate tests expressed appreciation for the love, prayer and concern shown by all during his isolation period.

The Governor while speaking on the students taking the WAEC examinations that have just resumed after a long break due to the global pandemic, said teachers are presently being trained to monitor the compliance regulations in their respective schools.

He said religious centers will also open formally on August the 14th, while urging them to abide by the conditions which includes one service per week not longer than two hours, children bellow 12 and aged above 65 to stay away till further notice.

On markets, the Governor explained that the Awedele and Agric Olope markets are ready for affected traders as a means of decongesting the markets and preventing unforeseen casualties.

The Ekiti state Governor also revealed that Government will soon commence the distribution of another round of palliatives in all its 16 local government areas to ease the inconveniences faced by the vulnerable in the state.
