Afenifere Leader Ayo Fasanmi Dies At 94

Leader of Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Fasanmin has died

He died Wednesday night in Osogbo,the Osun state capital at the age of 94.

Many of the sympathisers who thronged to the residence of late Pa Fasanmin described him as an elderly stateman who lived a fulfilled life as well as an advocate of united Nigeria.

One of the deceased son Folabi Fasanmi said he is saddened by the death of his father.

Folabi Fasanmi described contributions of pa ayo Fasanmi to socio-cultural and political development at all levels in the nation as unforgettable.

Late Pa Fasanmin joined the Unity Party of Nigeria in 1978 and was elected member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Ondo North in 1983.

During the Fourth Nigerian Republic, he served as the National Vice Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy, Southwest zone.

According to the family, his remains will be interred in Iyin-Ekiti, his home town, in Ekiti State next week.
