Akwa Ibom To Withdraw Licence Of Schools Resuming Online

Akwa Ibom state government has threatened to withdraw the license of any school, either public or private, that resumes online.

It has also warned that defaulters would be prosecuted as the state government is yet to authorise the resumption of schools, physically or virtually, for the 2019/2020 academic year.

The state commissioner for education, Mr Nse Essien, issued the warning in Akwa Ibom state capital, Uyo.

He maintained that the ministry of education has been reliably informed that some private schools have already started the 3rd term online and have asked parents and guardians to pay school fees and purchase digital gadget for their wards.

Essien added that the government would announce the resumption of schools in the state when it is convinced of the health safety of the children.
