The Ondo state response team against COVID-19 has insisted that the state will not be an abode for anybody who sneaked in during this period.’

This came as 17 northerners were intercepted in Akure.

Physically looking unkempt, they claimed to have begun the journey to Ondo town from Sokoto for almost two weeks.

A middle aged man, who appeared to be their navigator, Umar Garba, said fifteen thousand naira was paid to the transporter who brought them to Akure.

Two members of the state response team against COVID-19, Messrs Jimoh Dojumo and Dajin Odebowale, said the northerners will be sent back to their zone claiming that Ondo state will not be a dumping ground in the face of coronavirus pandemic. Dojumo and Odebowale called on residents of the state to report immediately if they notice any new face in their environment.
