Ekiti govt to reintroduce state merit award
Ekiti state governor Kayode Feyemi has pledged that his administration will re-introduce the state merit award in honour of indigenes who have distinguished themselves in various fields.
He gave the pledge as he spoke in Lagos at the funeral service for late lady Deborah Jibowu.
Late Jibowu was the first Nigerian female university graduate in sciences.
Governor Fayemi said the re-introduction of the awards will encourage the younger generation to aspire for excellence.
He commended late Jibowu for investing in the education sector describing her as an exceptional Ekiti daughter.
Governor Fayemi observed that lady Jibowu death remained a colossal loss to Ekiti state as Nigeria.
