Suicide bombers kill three officers in Gaza

Security sources say suicide bombers thought to be aligned with the Islamic State (IS) group have attacked two police checkpoints in Gaza, killing three Palestinian officers.

The attacks follow a recent operation by Hamas which controls Gaza against militants linked to IS.

Report says one of the bombers who carried out Tuesday’s attacks had previously been held.

Hamas’s interior ministry said the first bomb was set off from a motorcycle near a police check point while the second explosion came less than an hour later.

A state of emergency was declared after the attacks with forces on alert.
