Protesters built wall to prevent migrants’ shelter
Protesters in a south-western French town have built a wall around the entrance to a former hotel to prevent it being used as a migrant shelter.
dozens of residents of Semeac who erected a barrier 18 metres high around the formula 1 hotel said local authorities failed to discuss with them plans to lodge up to eighty-five migrants in the building.
The protesters warned that the small town with a population of about 5,500 people would simply be unable to cope with the migrants.
As at press time, the authorities are yet to respond to the construction of the wall.
