NDLEA nabs 59 drug dealers in Kebbi

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it has arrested 59 suspected drug dealers and seized 236.7 kilograms of illicit drugs and psychotropic substances within six months in Kebbi state.

The state commander of the agency, Mr Suleiman Jadi, made this known at a rally marking the United Nations day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Birnin Kebbi.

He said efforts are on to reduce drug abuse and illicit trafficking to the barest minimum.

Jadi confirmed the conviction of seven offenders to various jail terms within the period under review while other cases are still pending at the federal high court, Birnin Kebbi.
