Presidency denies alleged persecution of strong opposition figures

The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, says government is trying to cut off the Boko Haram from all sources of weapon supply.

Shehu told newsmen earlier on Monday that already, local weapons manufacturers have been identified and eradicated, to wipe out the availability of cheap weapons.

He also spoke of collaborations between the federal government and international organizations to fight terrorism.

The presidential aide also denied allegations of persecuting against perceived strong opposition figures by the Buhari-led administration.
