UNGA president meets with President Buhari in Abuja
President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the president of the United Nations General Assembly, Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces at the presidential villa Abuja.
She also met with the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.
They discussed issues bordering on climate change, migration among others.
Mrs. Espinosa Garces commended the role of the Nigerian government at the United Nations and reaffirmed the United Nation’s commitment to helping the country address issues of poverty, migration and inequality.
Onyeama asked for the support of the assembly in recharging the Lake Chad which he said has shrinked by over 90%,, an expenditure that could cost about 50 billion Naira.
