Nigeria’s labour leaders call for mass creation of decent jobs

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union congress have demanded the creation of decent jobs and reduced unemployment across the country.

The unions made this known when their members were on the streets of Abuja as a preparatory exercise ahead of 2019 workers’ day on May the 1st.

Labour leaders are also using the march as an opportunity to call government’s attention to the rising cases of unemployment across the country.

They are also seizing the opportunity to ask the employers of labour to begin implementation of the new national minimum wage.
