Venezuela: Pro-Maduro lawmakers strip Juan Guaido of parliamentary immunity

Venezuela’s assembly has stopped opposition leader Juan Guaido of his parliamentary immunity.

Mr. Guaido says, the move which could lead to his arrests his illegitimate.

He declared himself interim leader in January, gaining the support of more than 50 countries including the US.

However, the pro-government body says it acted on a request from the supreme court.

Amid a power struggle between assembly and Guaido, Venezuela has seen growing street protests over a lack of water, electricity and other infrastructure.
